Reality Fracture makes Tarmogoyf legal in Standard and Pioneer

Reality Fracture is reprinting Tarmogoyf at mythic rare, moving the former Modern and Legacy staple into Standard and Pioneer for the first time.

Tarmogoyf will enter Standard and Pioneer through a mythic-rare reprint in Reality Fracture. The two-mana Lhurgoyf was once a defining threat in Modern and Legacy, but has never previously been available in the smaller current card pools.

Its immediate ceiling remains uncertain. Standard lacks fetch lands and already has fast-growing threats such as Moonshadow and Marauding Mako, while Pioneer offers more natural graveyard shells including Abzan Greasefang and Golgari Midrange. Regardless of where it lands competitively, the legality change is a material format development when Reality Fracture releases on October 2.
