Why it matters

To maintain game balance and fairness across formats, Magic announces banned and restricted cards for four major formats.

Details

In Standard, Candelabra of Tawnos is banned. Force of Will, Subtlety, Wash Away, Ugin's Labyrinth, Time Warp, and Temporal Manipulation are also banned.

Pioneer sees similar bans with the addition of Subtlety being restricted instead of banned.

Modern retains most cards but restricts Subtlety. Legacy is unaffected by these changes.

The announcement comes after several previous changes in formats.
