In a groundbreaking fusion of two iconic franchises, Wizards of the Coast has announced the release of Magic: The Gathering – Final Fantasy, a Universes Beyond set scheduled to launch on June 13, 2025. This collaboration marks a significant milestone, as it’s the first time a non-Hasbro intellectual property has been fully integrated into a Standard-legal Magic: The Gathering set.

A Celebration of the Entire Final Fantasy Saga

Spanning all sixteen mainline Final Fantasy titles, this set offers players an immersive experience into the rich narratives and characters that have defined the series. From the original Final Fantasy to the latest Final Fantasy XVI, fans can expect to encounter beloved heroes, formidable villains, and iconic summons. Notable characters such as Cloud Strife, Terra Branford, Tidus, and Y’shtola will be featured, each depicted with stunning artwork that pays homage to their original designs.

Innovative Mechanics and Card Designs

The set introduces unique gameplay mechanics inspired by the Final Fantasy universe:
• Saga Creatures: These cards evolve over time, reflecting the epic story arcs characteristic of the series.
• Double-Faced Cards: Featuring transformative gameplay elements, these cards showcase pivotal moments and character developments from the games.

Additionally, collectors can look forward to 55 borderless cards highlighting classic Final Fantasy characters, as well as special treatments like woodblock-inspired art for iconic summons.

A diverse range of products will be available to cater to both players and collectors:
• Starter Kit: Ideal for newcomers, this kit includes two ready-to-play decks, token cards, and rulebooks.
• Commander Decks: Four 100-card decks, each themed around a specific Final Fantasy title, featuring characters like Cloud Strife and Tidus.
