Magic: The Gathering Unveils Secret Lair x Final Fantasy Collaboration

In a stunning collaboration that merges two iconic fantasy worlds, Wizards of the Coast has unveiled the Secret Lair x Final Fantasy drop as part of their upcoming Ultimate Pencil Superdrop. This limited-edition release brings beloved themes and aesthetics from the Final Fantasy series directly into the world of Magic: The Gathering.

The drop will feature three themed sets, each showcasing classic Magic cards reimagined with new Final Fantasy–inspired artwork:

• Game Over – A collection of game-ending spells such as Day of Judgment, Temporal Extortion, Toxic Deluge, Praetor’s Grasp, and Star of Extinction.
• Weapons – Celebrating iconic armaments, this set includes Staff of the Storyteller, Blade of Selves, Umezawa’s Jitte, Colossus Hammer, and Sword of Truth and Justice.
• Grimoire – A spell-heavy ensemble featuring Prismatic Ending, Cyclonic Rift, Damn, Lightning Bolt, and Heroic Intervention.

Each card is adorned with newly commissioned illustrations that channel the magic, drama, and legacy of Final Fantasy—from spell-casting black mages to mythical weapons and cinematic showdowns.
