Aerid converts clone spells into two Heartwood tokens

Twinflame-style copies exploit Aerid Konstrari’s enter-and-die triggers, turning the legend rule into two Heartwood tokens and a new Gruul artifact-token ramp shell.

Aerid Konstrari looks like a six-mana artifact payoff, but an October 2 deck construction identifies a cheaper engine hidden in the new commander's wording. Aerid creates a Heartwood token both when entering and when dying, so temporary clone spells can generate two artifacts without paying the activated ability.

Twinflame, Electroduplicate, Heat Shimmer and Molten Duplication create a token copy of Aerid. The copy produces Heartwood when it enters, then the legend rule sends one Aerid to the graveyard and produces another Heartwood from the death trigger. The result is an unconventional ramp package that also raises the artifact count used by Aerid's power boost. Helm of the Host avoids the legend rule entirely and can supply repeated copies.

The rest of the shell turns those tokens into mana and damage. Woodwork Prodigy creates more Heartwood, Sarinth Greatwurm supplies Powerstones, and Roxanne, Starfall Savant makes Meteorites while increasing the mana generated by artifact tokens. Parallel Lives and Second Harvest multiply the production. Reckless Fireweaver and Draconic Visitor convert repeated artifact entries into table-wide pressure, while the newly released Craterclaw Colossus scales with artifact count. Crackle with Power provides a mana sink that can close a game after the ramp engine develops.

There are meaningful weaknesses. Aerid's own token-making activation costs six mana, so the deck can be slow when it does not find clone effects. Many of its mana artifacts sacrifice themselves, reducing the count needed for the commander's combat payoff. A Vandalblast or comparable sweeper can erase both resources and win conditions at once, and Gruul has limited ways to protect an entire artifact board beyond cards such as Heroic Intervention and For the Common Good.

This is not merely a generic list for a new legend. The enter-plus-death interaction supplies a distinct current strategy, establishes why temporary clones function as ramp, and connects the resulting artifact mass to several independent finishes.
