Commander’s budget land map gets a 2026 overhaul

EDHREC has rebuilt its annual budget-land guide for 2026, expanding the list to more than 150 cards and accounting for changes since last year. The update matters because several classic cycles have gained new members, some staples have fallen into an accessible price range and others have moved the opposite way.

The guide prioritizes lands that can enter untapped or compensate for entering tapped. Command Tower and Exotic Orchard remain the default five-color fixers, while Fabled Passage is highlighted as newly affordable after repeated precon printings. From there, each two- and three-color combination receives practical options across pain lands, check lands, cycling lands, fast lands, filter lands, creature lands and inexpensive utility lands.

The strongest takeaway is not a single universal ranking but a current construction framework: sequence-sensitive lands such as reveal lands need the right basic-land mix, while tapped lands must provide enough scrying, cycling, typing or late-game utility to justify the tempo cost. For budget deck builders, the article is both an updated market snapshot and a reusable mana-base reference.
