Mono-Green Devotion has a new way to turn a fight spell into a major mana-base upgrade. October 19 reporting identifies a Hexhaven Invigorator package backed by two Pioneer Challenge lists: Thales finished first at 7–1 on October 17, while Arianne placed fifth at 5–1 on October 18. The published 75-card lists match, including four Invigorators and four Tail Swipes.
Invigorator costs four green mana and supplies a 6/6 vigilant body, contributing four devotion to Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. Its important trigger searches for up to as many land cards as the damage dealt to it, puts those lands onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffles. It is not restricted to basic lands, so Nykthos is a legal search choice.
Tail Swipe turns that trigger into something the green player can initiate. Fighting an opposing creature means Invigorator is dealt that creature’s damage, producing a corresponding land search. A larger opposing body can yield more lands, although the fight can also kill Invigorator. Its death does not itself erase a damage trigger that has already triggered. The searched lands enter tapped, however: this is not an automatic same-turn Nykthos activation or an unconditional combo finish.
The surrounding shell supplies mana creatures and substantial payoffs. Both lists play four each of Elvish Mystic, Llanowar Elves, Badgermole Cub, Spider Manifestation and Vastlands Scavenger, with Nature’s Rhythm and Craterhoof Behemoth among the ways to convert resources into a win. Invigorator is therefore both a devotion permanent and a bridge toward the deck’s expensive threats, rather than a standalone fight gimmick.
The interaction has real constraints. Tail Swipe needs an opposing creature and legal targets at resolution; creature-light control decks offer fewer opportunities. Removal before the fight can dismantle the sequence, and tapped lands limit immediate returns. The two recorded finishes establish that this particular construction has performed in Challenges. They do not provide a representative win rate, prove that the package improves every matchup, or establish a sustained Pioneer-wide trend.
