An all-Jace experiment has identified a more practical idea underneath its theme: Jace’s Machinations can accelerate Jace, Reality Sculptor’s library-exile finish. SaffronOlive’s September 30 write-up explains the line from Reality Fracture Early Access games, rather than merely presenting a novelty deck.
Reality Sculptor’s zero ability checks for at least 25 loyalty across your Jaces, then exiles all but the bottom card of the opponent’s library. That is not an immediate win. Ordinarily, the opponent receives another turn and loses only when a subsequent draw is attempted with no cards left. The setup therefore needs both a substantial loyalty total and a way to survive the final window.
Machinations contributes eight loyalty through empower Jace and allows loyalty abilities to be activated at instant speed. The demonstrated sequence establishes Reality Sculptor, uses its positive ability to build loyalty, and waits until the opponent’s upkeep to cast Machinations. If the resulting total reaches 25, the exile ability can then be used before that turn’s draw. The opponent draws the last remaining card and must end the game or avoid the later empty-library draw.
A control shell can build toward this without filling every slot with a planeswalker. Countersculpt and No Admittance supply interaction while leaving Jace loyalty behind; Overwrite the Multiverse offers a board-clearing route. Theorist’s Proxy provides an early blocker and more loyalty, while Theorist’s Sanctum offers a late-game source of tokens or loyalty. These pieces make the finisher fit naturally with spells that already help a control deck reach the late game.
There are important limits. Removing Reality Sculptor or attacking away loyalty can break the sequence, and having the required total does not ensure that Machinations resolves. The published test reported a winning record without an exact match count, against an Early Access field. It is evidence that the interaction works and can arrive sooner than expected, not proof that a forty-Jace list is tournament-ready. The strongest next step is testing the package inside a disciplined control build.
