MagicCon will make its first visit to Detroit from February 26–28, 2027. The convention at Huntington Place will open a four-event MagicCon season, expanding the annual program beyond the individual stop while tying Detroit directly to Nauctis: The Sunken Realm. Early-bird badges go on sale September 29 at 10 a.m. PT and remain discounted through October 5 or until the relevant allocation sells out.
The announcement also confirms the return of two specialized packages. The Mythic VIP Bundle combines Black Lotus VIP access for all four 2027 MagicCons, while the Family Spark Bundle adds a family lounge, stroller parking, charging space and dedicated programming. Youth badges cover attendees aged 10–15; children nine and younger may enter with a paying adult guardian.
Every 2027 MagicCon badge will include a newly revealed textless Farseek promo illustrated by Flavio Greco Paglia. Standard badge access covers the main stage, show store, marketplace, free play, Command Zone, artist area, scavenger hunt, Creator Central and most meet-and-greets, although capacity remains limited. Ticketed-play schedules and guest details will follow later.
Detroit will also host Pro Tour Nauctis. The event carries a $500,000 prize pool and uses Nauctis: The Sunken Realm Draft alongside Modern Constructed. That combination makes the announcement more than a venue reveal: it fixes the opening dates of the 2027 convention calendar, starts badge sales and identifies the first Pro Tour’s formats, theme and prize structure in one release.
