Raffine moves 250 copies as Ur-Sphinx adoption lifts demand

More than 250 default-frame near-mint Raffine copies sold after The Ur-Sphinx reveal, backed by 2,400 early deck inclusions but tempered by a cheaper showcase variant and a coming reprint.

Raffine, Scheming Seer has moved from an established Commander card into a new demand cycle tied to The Ur-Sphinx. The October 2 market report provides both card-specific adoption and completed-sale volume, rather than relying on a percentage increase alone.

More than 2,400 early The Ur-Sphinx lists include Raffine, giving the former Standard centerpiece a clear role in the newly available Esper Sphinx shell. Raffine already commands more than 10,000 decks and appears in the 99 of over 24,500, so the catalyst is adding demand to a liquid, widely played card rather than creating interest from nothing.

The default-frame near-mint version moved more than 250 copies after the Multiverse Reforged reveal. Before that reveal, the reported reference price was $2.18. The cheapest near-mint listing had reached $7.06 by publication, with lightly played copies around $6.68. Those current numbers are asking prices, not a claim that every completed sale cleared at that level. The showcase printing also remained cheaper, with multiple near-mint copies below $6, which gives buyers an alternative and limits how broadly the headline default-frame number should be applied.

Reversal risk is substantial. Raffine spiked toward $10 after the Aetherdrift precons were revealed in February, then fell back near $2.50. It is also being reprinted in The Zeta Set, whose newly announced print-to-demand rerun is expected to add supply in 2027. The timing of that supply may be too late to prevent a short-term squeeze, but it weakens the case for treating the present listing level as durable.

The strongest conclusion is therefore about demand, not a guaranteed floor. A confirmed new commander, 2,400 deck inclusions and 250 completed default-frame sales show a real market response. Variant substitution, prior spike history and incoming supply make the current asking prices vulnerable, so the movement is best read as a liquid catalyst-driven surge with meaningful reprint and reversal risk.
