Kydele
An oracle who asks what restored order has cost
Kydele serves Kruphix without treating knowledge as comfort. After witnessing Elspeth's murder, she asks why a restored pantheon can still feel like a wrong that victory has not repaired.
Profile
Why Kydele matters
From Kruphix's temple, Kydele witnessed Xenagos's fall and Heliod's murder of Elspeth. The gods' order had been restored, yet that outcome left her troubled rather than reassured.
She questioned Kruphix about what gods were and learned that mortal belief had given them form. Divine memory was not a guarantee of an untouched past. Even the oldest god could not settle every question about his own origins.
Through planeswalker visitors, Kruphix had learned of Eldrazi, Bolas and Phyrexia. Kydele accepted knowledge he could not turn into a promise of safety, and later carried that burden among Meletis's faithful.
