Dakkon Blackblade

A smith whose promised power became a binding

Dakkon forged a soul-drinking sword for promised planeswalker power. Dihada granted the power and bound his soul, turning the maker himself into the more valuable weapon.

Profile

Why Dakkon Blackblade matters

Dakkon was a warrior and master smith in Corondor. Dihada offered to awaken his latent spark if he forged a soul-drinking weapon. He accepted.

For ten years he made the Blackblade through brutal sacrifice. Dihada then awakened his spark and trapped his shadow and soul in the sword. The smith himself became her greater weapon.

Carth later bound Dakkon to a campaign against her. They failed to kill Dihada but escaped together, and obligation became friendship. Their departure for Terisiare was survival, not the final overthrow of the power they had challenged.

Other confrontations left scars on Dominaria, including Piru's death by the Blackblade. Dakkon's own end remains unrecorded. The weapon's later presence in Gideon's hands records the sword's survival; it does not establish where its maker went or that he returned.
