Thrasios
Meletis's triton champion and an uncertain ocean pilgrim
Thrasios defends Meletis out of a family debt, then pursues a calling at the ocean's edge. His confidence in Thassa's favour is not the same as proof.
Profile
Why Thrasios matters
Meletians saved Thrasios's family from marauding minotaurs. The triton repaid that help by fighting for the city's honour, becoming a celebrated warrior among the few of his people living there. His feats were said to be almost miraculous: enemies' blows seemed to miss him. The account does not establish whether divine intervention explained his skill. His loyalty to Meletis came from a debt to its people, not from his ancestry.
Believing Thassa favoured him, he later left on an ocean pilgrimage. He claimed to have reached Olantin's ruins, though few accepted his account.
