Rootha Squallheart arrives at Prismari carrying the prestige of a celebrated artistic family. Every attempt at an assignment is measured against that inheritance, especially when Dean Uvilda treats control and refinement as the only proof of seriousness. Rootha responds by destroying unfinished work before anyone can decide that it exposes her as inadequate.
Dean Nassari follows her into the Furygale, where unstable magic turns emotion into dangerous weather. The lesson is not to calm down for somebody else's comfort. Nassari asks Rootha to notice the shape, rhythm and force inside the anger. What seemed like failure becomes material: a language of impact that cannot be produced by polishing away every rough edge.
Rootha returns able to make a different choice. She need not reject craft, her family or Strixhaven, but neither must she reproduce their preferred form to deserve a place. Her breakthrough matters because it changes authorship. The work can remain unfinished, volatile and unmistakably hers while she decides what completion should mean.
