Why Dellian Fel matters
Dellian Fel earned tenure unusually young by treating necromancy as a study of connection rather than a simple command over corpses. Life and death are systems that exchange matter, memory and power, and he wants to understand the point where one becomes the other. That interest stopped being academic when colleagues found him dead in his laboratory.
Thirteen months later, Fel rose from the grave carrying a planeswalker spark. Neither the missing time nor the route taken by his soul has been explained. Resurrection also left a hunger at the edge of his thoughts, making every investigation into the boundary a search for both knowledge and self-diagnosis.
His teaching style is severe because patience feels like distance from the answer. At Titan’s Grave, he pushes students toward discovery while withholding his own history with the site. A daemogoth recognises him and refers to an earlier offer. Fel destroys the creature through explosive growth, then dismisses the implication more quickly than the witnesses can.
Fel ultimately protects the students and follows Lluwen’s evidence toward Jadzi, but competence does not equal transparency. He knows the archaics’ distress may involve the plane’s future and still treats disclosure as something to ration. His dossier remains deliberately unresolved: a scholar can return from death and continue teaching while the most important part of his lesson is still missing.
