Eirdu
Carrier of dawn and living half of a worldsoul that keeps Lorwyn from becoming the only truth
Eirdu embodies Lorwyn's light without ruling its people. Its return answers Isilu's expanding night and restores movement between two necessary halves of one world.
Profile
Why Eirdu matters
Eirdu is the sun-crowned incarnation of Lorwyn and one half of the plane's divided worldsoul. It emerged into open history after Oona fell, though older traditions suggest it had always moved somewhere beyond ordinary reach. Its six-limbed form carries daylight wherever it walks.
The elemental is not a monarch and does not translate balance into mortal justice. It sleeps while Isilu moves and moves while Isilu rests, allowing the two aspects to wax and wane. The rhythm matters more to it than the ambitions of any species living beneath its light.
Maralen shares a bond with Eirdu and finds calm in its presence at Glen Elendra. When Isilu wakes unexpectedly, Eirdu leaves the palace. Its absence lets night spread, but departure is not abandonment; balance requires the carrier of dawn to meet its counterpart in motion.
Eirdu returns beside Abigale at the height of Morcant's assault. Daylight rolls across the battlefield and ends the dangerous excess without destroying Isilu. It then receives Rhys's final thanks. In both moments, Eirdu represents warmth that completes a cycle rather than conquers its opposite.
