Jiang Yanggu
A healer whose chosen companion matters more than a lost past
Yanggu began with no memory of his name or family and chose a name from the valley he remembered. Mowu's companionship eventually gave him an answer more useful than recovering every lost detail.
Profile
Why Jiang Yanggu matters
His remembered life begins in the Easternmost Valley, not with a recovered identity. He chose the name Yanggu and travelled with Mu Yanling and his hound Mowu in search of what he had forgotten. Friendship gave that search company without supplying a convenient explanation for the missing years.
After Bolas fell, Yanggu left Ravnica with Yanling and Mowu. The hound turned to stone just before the three disappeared together.
Yanggu later lost his spark, but Mowu survived. An Echoverse hound's death is not the original Mowu's fate.
