An enemy can become an ally
Ripley Vance turns command into recruitment, judging a defeated attacker by the courage that made him threaten her fortress.
Profile
Why Captain Ripley Vance matters
Vargus Wrath attacks Spitfire Bastion without the Coalition behind him. Ripley defeats him, but the expected execution becomes an offer: another ship and a place among her pirates.
Vargus becomes a trusted captain. Her decision converts a dangerous rival into useful strength without pretending he had always served her. His new loyalty begins with her choice to spare and recruit him.
