Empires, explorers and a world beneath the map
Ixalan
Rival peoples cross jungle, sea and buried history in a plane where every expedition can redraw both geography and power.
Plane profile
A world worth knowing
Ixalan's surface is a contest of memory and ambition. The Sun Empire and River Heralds have deep roots on the continent, while the Brazen Coalition and Legion of Dusk arrived with their own hungers. Their race for Orazca and the Immortal Sun turned exploration into a struggle over who could claim history and who would pay for that claim.
The plane rewards curiosity and punishes entitlement. Ruins vanish beneath fast-growing jungle, sacred waters cut through high country and forgotten treasures wait in coves or far below the surface. Ixalan's greatest discoveries do not merely add blank spaces to a map; they expose civilisations and truths that the would-be conquerors never knew to look for.
