Daretti
Artificer whose repairs and reprisals leave different marks
Daretti turns discarded mechanisms into leverage, transport and weapons. His history on Fiora shows how legitimate grievance can become destructive revenge; later improvisation helps people survive far from that struggle.
Profile
Why Daretti matters
Daretti returned to Fiora determined to disturb the institutions that had denied him recognition. His schemes contributed to the Academy's dissolution and goblin unrest. Access to knowledge and power became matters he would contest rather than accept.
With Grenzo, he confronted Fimarell over a stolen manuscript. The stolen credit was real, but the encounter ended in a killing and a burning house. Revenge did not restore a scholarly career or make the raid an act of institutional justice.
After losing his spark, Daretti backed the Goblin Rocketeers while seeking another way between planes. The Grand Prix placed his ingenuity beside Pia, Chandra and Loot. Stranded with damaged equipment, they improvised a vehicle from what they could recover. Machinery mattered because it could carry people, not merely prove its inventor superior.
At Ghirapur, his drones helped the group resist the attempted Consulate restoration. That practical contribution does not cancel the violence on Fiora. It shows why a useful ally and a morally uncomplicated person are not the same thing.
