Why Elesh Norn matters
Norn arises from white-sun mana. The Machine Orthodoxy treats compleation as a blessing. After Karn's escape, Norn openly claims the role of Mother of Machines, turning faith and hierarchy into instruments of her own authority.
Ashiok exposes a weakness inside that certainty. A nightmare wearing Elspeth's image and Norn's own form makes her feel the humanity she despises. She calls up the collective to resist, but the fear remains after the dream dissolves.
Realmbreaker carries her design outward. When the invasion fails, her own forces turn against her. Reduced to a wounded body crawling toward escape, she is dismantled by Karn, who will not leave her ambition a chance to return.
