Melira
A cure chosen for other lives
Melira turns the difference that made her an outcast into care for others, choosing a final healing without becoming an inexhaustible remedy.
Profile
Why Melira matters
Abandoned because she has no metal anatomy, the Sylvok child survives when Thrun adopts her. He teaches her Mirrodin's past and recognises immunity extending beyond its metal-making Spore to the Phyrexian contagion.
Her gift becomes a shared defence among the hidden Mirrans. She gives people a chance to remain themselves while their camps survive through retreat, scavenging and mutual care.
On Zhalfir, already fatally wounded, she chooses to help cleanse Ajani and Nissa. Karn spends Venser's remaining spark, Teferi holds time and Kaya assists. Both patients survive; Melira dies, leaving Koth to mourn her rather than a promise that every loss can be reversed.
