Nashi freed Tamiyo’s echo from the device holding it, allowing the recorded echo to dissolve rather than remain another possession contested by survivors and demon. The choice hurt because it was not recovery. It was a refusal to let love become permanent captivity. Tezzeret had killed Nashi's parents when destroying their village; Tamiyo adopted him afterward.
Kaito struck Valgavoth with a blade carrying light the House could not fully absorb. The wound interrupted the demon’s control long enough for the group to force an exit. Injury was possible; victory was not. Valgavoth remained bound to a domain built from his appetite and from countless lives already consumed. Tyvar protects Zimone through transmutation and carries her out; Niko escapes a fateshifter's lethal vision. The Wanderer held Valgavoth at bay with her blade, cutting through his corrosive webbing while Nashi struggled to free Tamiyo's remaining story.
The survivors returned with Nashi but without closing Duskmourn. Winter received the kind of freedom only Valgavoth would define, and doors could still appear on other planes. The rescue therefore became a warning: Omenpath travel had opened the Multiverse to ordinary travellers, and some worlds had learned to travel back by hunting through the threshold. A moth-marked door later forms unnoticed in Proft's mental office. On Kamigawa, the Wanderer hears Nashi tell children their story. Tyvar and Niko go with Zimone to Strixhaven.
Proft held open a temporary Omenpath created with Aminatou's help. Valgavoth retains Loot as a captive after the rescuers escape. The way out was no ordinary door: Kaito's surviving spark, Proft's mind magic, Aminatou's intervention and a fragment of Duskmourn made a short-lived artificial Omenpath. The party emerged on Ravnica, and Nashi left Tamiyo's emptied scroll in its vanishing passage. This escape did not destroy Valgavoth or release Loot.
