Xenagos returned from planeswalking with an ambition larger than another revel: he would become a god. His rituals disturbed the separation between Nyx and mortal life. Celestial creatures began appearing where their presence could become a threat, while the gods answered with suspicion and anger.
After the defence of Akros, the victors celebrated survival. Xenagos made that celebration the completion of his ritual and entered the pantheon as the God of Revels.
The ascension was real, but it did not bring peace or general acceptance. The gods blamed mortals for the disruption, and Heliod turned his wrath toward Elspeth. A city's relief had become fuel for a struggle over who could claim divinity.
