The Oltec had protected Chimil through an age of darkness and built their society around its restored light. Their account preserved migrations, betrayals and endurance that surface traditions remembered only in fragments. Huatli found resonances with the Threefold Sun, but resemblance did not grant possession.
Contact produced wonder and alarm in equal measure. Some Oltec saw distant relatives returning; others saw armed strangers repeating an old pattern. Hospitality therefore came with scrutiny. The newcomers had to explain not only who they were, but why their discovery should not be understood as another invasion.
Kellan occupied an unusual position. He represented no Ixalan faction and had little knowledge of the histories being argued, which made listening more valuable than intervention. His presence showed what Omenpath travel could become: an individual crossing worlds without an empire, yet still capable of changing the balance simply by arriving.
