Kellan
Half-fae hero who crossed the Omenpaths to find—and finally judge—his father
Kellan began as a lonely shepherd's son who wanted the certainty of a heroic tale. His search for Oko carried him across the new Omenpaths, where experience taught him that inheritance explains power but never excuses how it is used.
Profile
Why Kellan matters
Kellan grew up in Orrinshire on Eldraine, loved by his human mother and stepfather but treated as suspect for his fae blood. Stories offered him a shape for the questions his village could not answer. When the high fae Talion promised information about his unknown father in exchange for breaking the Wicked Slumber, Kellan accepted before he had the skill to understand the bargain. Courage came easily; judgement had to be learned on the road.
His first quest placed a real cost beneath the romance. Kellan and the young knight Ruby confronted witches whose power had divided the Realm, while Will and Rowan Kenrith fought over what rebuilding should mean. Kellan helped break the curse and learned that his father was Oko, but the answer opened another journey instead of closing the first. With Omenpaths now connecting worlds, he left Eldraine to follow a trail no ordinary traveller could have attempted before the invasion.
Ixalan and Ravnica made Kellan less certain and more capable. He encountered cultures with their own histories, helped people whose causes could not be reduced to a knight's simple test and kept choosing responsibility when a quicker victory was available. His changing magic reflected that education: fae glamour, living golden bindings and a talent for reaching into another creature's will grew beside the swordcraft and stubborn decency he carried from home.
On Thunder Junction he finally found Oko and discovered that admiration could not survive proximity. Oko treated a legendary heist, his crew and even his son as pieces in a performance. Kellan opposed him at the Fomori vault, chose innocent lives over the score and embraced enough of his fae power to command the dragon Akul away from Annie Flash. Finding his father did not tell Kellan who to become. Refusing Oko did.
