1. 01

   Class Is in Session

   Kasmina brings Rowan and Will to Arcavios, where an impulsive campus duel reveals that the twins' once-seamless magic is beginning to pull apart.

   Before the students arrive, Professor Onyx surprises a masked intruder stealing books from the Biblioplex. The attack confirms that rumors of the Oriq are more than campus gossip, yet the deans treat the danger as a distraction beside ordinary university business. Liliana keeps her identity hidden and begins watching for people capable of helping when the threat returns.

   On Kylem, Rowan grows impatient while Will tries to pack an impossible library. Their shared planeswalking bond pulls both through the Blind Eternities when Rowan leaves first. Kasmina meets them on Arcavios, leads them past the great torches and reveals a university larger than the kingdoms they know. At the gates, she hands responsibility back to them.

   A student duel immediately gives each twin what they expect to find. Rowan sees exhilarating freedom; Will sees reckless disorder until an ink spell ruins one of his books. They answer together with lightning and ice, but the two spells shear apart instead of interlocking. Rowan celebrates the victory while Will notices the warning: their connection is changing.

2. 02

   Lessons in Loss

   Liliana searches for resurrection while a stranded Lukka forms a gentler bond with Mila, placing two grieving outsiders on opposite paths toward the Oriq.

   Liliana approaches Beledros Witherbloom with the last fragment she carries of Gideon and asks whether true restoration is possible. The Founder Dragon refuses to repeat an earlier disaster. Her answer redirects the question: remembrance is measured less by recovering the dead than by how the bereaved choose to treat people who are still alive.

   Far from campus, Lukka arrives alone and is mistaken for an Oriq agent by villagers already frightened of hidden recruiters. He answers suspicion with violence and uses nearby animals to escape, then nearly dies in the wilderness. A wounded fox brings him food. When Lukka names her Mila, their bond is companionship rather than command, briefly recovering the gentler part of his gift.

   The Oriq find Lukka because they understand both his isolation and his anger at institutions. Liliana, meanwhile, returns toward Strixhaven and witnesses masked mages binding a great stag. The two paths frame the coming conflict: grief can deepen attention to the living, or it can become the opening through which another person's cause takes control.

3. 03

   The Space Between Twins

   College life gives Rowan and Will separate circles, but bruised pride and unspoken fear turn their independence into a public magical confrontation.

   Rowan spends her energy with new friends and treats classwork as one demand among many. Will thrives in the Biblioplex and finds an enthusiastic companion in Quintorius. Each is genuinely growing, yet both read the other's choices as rejection. When Will exposes Rowan's poor exam result in front of her friends, concern lands as humiliation.

   Weeks of avoidance end at a Mage Tower match. Will is delighted by the strategy while Rowan sees him enjoying a life that seems to have no room for her. Their attempted reconciliation becomes an argument about control, duty and the things they survived on Eldraine. Lightning and ice replace the words they cannot say without hurting one another.

   Professor Onyx ends the duel and explains why their fracture matters. The Oriq gain ground when Strixhaven's people turn conflict inward. Will responds by hunting for knowledge that can protect others; Rowan chooses practical preparation and greater force. They leave the same warning with different plans, still unable to recognize that each approach supplies what the other lacks.

4. 04

   The Oriq Attack

   Mage hunters drive students away from the Biblioplex while Professor Onyx leads the Kenriths through abandoned tunnels toward Extus and the Strixhaven Snarl.

   The assault begins across the colleges. Mage hunters feed on magic, force students into defensive pockets and create a living perimeter around the Biblioplex. The Founder Dragons descend to burn openings through the creatures, but the pattern reveals the invasion's real purpose: the campus battle is cover for a smaller force moving inside the library.

   Rowan and Will find one another amid the attack, then encounter Professor Onyx. Instead of sending them to shelter, she recruits them. An old Witherbloom maintenance route bypasses the siege. In the tunnels, a collapsing bridge makes the twins act without debate; Will catches Rowan, and the simplest promise between them survives everything their arguments obscured.

   Inside the Biblioplex, Extus discards his own followers whenever they become inconvenient. He reaches the Hall of Oracles with stolen texts and binds his ritual to the Snarl, the primordial knot of mana suspended there. Onyx and the twins arrive after the spell has begun. Stopping an invasion is no longer enough; they must prevent an ancient power from taking shape.

5. 05

   The Final Exam

   The Blood Avatar nearly destroys Strixhaven, but Rowan's strength and Will's studied precision combine in a new way that neither twin could achieve alone.

   Extus draws the Blood Avatar through the Snarl and fills the Hall of Oracles with destruction. Rowan seizes raw power from the vortex and overwhelms Extus, but the energy begins to consume her as quickly as it empowers her. Will reaches her before rage turns unlimited power into another catastrophe. Their reconciliation starts with survival, not ceremony.

   A Mage Tower lesson gives Will the answer: the Blood Avatar is a summoned being, so it can be intercepted rather than beaten head-on. His control spell cannot overcome Extus alone. Rowan stops trying to merge her lightning with Will's ice exactly as they once did and instead feeds her strength into his precise construction. The combination succeeds because they accept their differences.

   The Avatar crushes Extus and is dragged back into the Snarl, but its last stroke takes Will's lower right leg. Five weeks later he walks with an ice-and-steel prosthesis and the twins choose to remain students. Liliana stays too, setting aside her resurrection research to teach under her true name. Strixhaven survives, and every survivor carries a lesson the school could never schedule.
