Auntie Grub tells the tale of Ygril, Flib, Lugg and Naance, four boggarts who redirect a planned theft toward the feared giant Boeb. Warnings make the prize more attractive. They enter his dolmen while he lies in name-sleep and treat every strange object as an experience waiting to be stolen.
Flib finds an eternalisk scale hanging from Boeb's neck and wakes him while trying to cut it free. The heist turns lethal, and Ygril becomes trapped in a bucket beneath a torrent of cloudgoat milk. Boeb's rage conceals grief: the scale came from his dead father, and sleep was the only place where that relationship still felt present.
Ygril survives through quick thinking and learns too late that appetite without attention converts other people's lives into props. Auntie Grub preserves the disaster as communal memory. Boggart storytelling does not make the dead return, but it can turn reckless sensation into knowledge the next listener might use.
