Bolas was stripped of the power he had gathered. Rather than stage a public execution, Ugin arranged a quieter end: the defeated dragon was taken to the Meditation Realm, cut off from the Multiverse and watched by his twin. To almost everyone else, Nicol Bolas was simply gone.
The battlefield had already exacted its price. Gideon, Domri Rade and Dack Fayden were among the planeswalkers killed, alongside countless Ravnicans and fighters from every guild. Buildings could be rebuilt more easily than trust, and the city had to decide what its brief unity meant once the common enemy disappeared.
The Gatewatch survived, but not in its original shape. Gideon's absence removed its moral centre, Liliana carried both guilt and a second chance, and old friendships had to absorb what each person had done under pressure. War of the Spark ends an era of Bolas's schemes without pretending that victory restores the world that existed before them.
