Five worlds learning to be one again

Alara

Five societies shaped by incomplete mana collided in the Conflux, restoring Alara while throwing every old certainty into question.

Plane profile

A world worth knowing

Alara began as one plane, but an ancient fracture separated it into five shards. Each shard could reach only three colours of mana, so absence became a creative force: it changed ecosystems, magic, government and even what people believed a complete world should look like.

The Conflux erased those boundaries. Bant, Esper, Grixis, Jund and Naya suddenly shared a sky, while long-missing mana returned in violent abundance. Nicol Bolas had engineered the crisis to feed on the Maelstrom, but the plane he left behind was no longer five isolated experiments. Modern Alara is a reunion without a rulebook, rich with new magic and old cultures that refuse to disappear.
