Realmbreaker’s reach left passages between planes after the tree itself was gone. These Omenpaths did not behave like controlled planeswalking. They opened in places, could be crossed by ordinary people and creatures, and did not promise permanence or a familiar destination.
For Nissa and Chandra, one such path transformed an argument about inevitable departure. It could carry them forward together, not because Chandra transported Nissa as a passenger but because both could choose to cross the same threshold. The route did not solve their grief; it changed what their future was allowed to include.
For the Multiverse, that possibility was revolutionary and destabilising. Trade, migration, rescue and invasion no longer required a spark or a machine. Planeswalkers remained important, but they were no longer the sole living bridges between worlds. The aftermath ends by opening the map to everyone.
A strange storm elemental leaves the survivors trapped in a collapsing ravine. Nissa learns to hear the voice of Zhalfir again by joining the memories of the connections she has made across worlds; she and Chandra work together to turn the creature into life-giving rain. At the end of the story they stand beside a luminous passage whose destination is uncertain. Crossing is a choice they can make together, not a journey Chandra can promise to control.
