The invasion ended, but victory changed who could cross the Multiverse and how the planes touched.

Victory does not rewind

The invasion ended when New Phyrexia was displaced, but its damage remained embedded in worlds and survivors.

The final strategy exchanged the positions of Zhalfir and New Phyrexia. Zhalfir emerged from its long isolation beneath Mirrodin’s five suns, while the Phyrexian plane was sealed into the exile Teferi had once created. Without Elesh Norn’s command, invading forces across the Multiverse fell inert.

That ending stopped further conquest without removing what had already crossed Realmbreaker. Cities, ecosystems and institutions had been broken on many planes. Survivors could cut away dead machinery and still find that the war had changed borders, leadership and the assumptions on which ordinary life depended.

The victory also changed the people most associated with interplanar action. Some planeswalkers kept their sparks, while many did not. The pattern was not understood well enough to feel like a rule. Power vanished unevenly, leaving former walkers to interpret a cosmic event through private loss.
