Dihada offered Dakkon the power of a planeswalker in return for a soul-drinking sword. He spent ten years making the Blackblade through bloody sacrifice. The agreement did not make him an innocent craftsman tricked only after harmless work.
She returned, awakened his spark and bound his shadow and soul into the blade. The reward was real; so was the binding. Dihada wanted the powerful maker under her control, not merely another weapon to carry.
Carth later brought Dakkon into his struggle against her. Their escape did not kill Dihada, but it allowed an imposed obligation to become friendship. The men survived without securing the final victory they had sought. That struggle had also claimed Piru: bound to Dihada, she died by Dakkon's blade; Chromium was banished, and the blast left Corondor's Dueling Chasm.
