Pia’s movement joined inventors, aetherborn, gremlins, smugglers and sky pirates whose motives did not need to match perfectly. Gonti supplied weapons for reasons of influence, Kari Zev disrupted the skies and Saheeli helped convert available parts into answers for problems changing by the hour.
The revolt seized the Aether Hub to power the skyship built from Kiran Nalaar’s old design. Renamed Heart of Kiran, it carried memory as well as fuel: a machine created by Chandra’s father became transport for the coalition her mother led. Innovation survived confiscation because knowledge remained distributed among people.
Consulate counterattack made the Hub costly to hold. Nissa animated the city’s structures, Gideon protected fragile allies and Chandra spent herself keeping the route open. Their powers mattered, but the campaign belonged equally to residents who knew which pipes, alleys, workshops and loyalties could be turned against central control.
