Saheeli Rai embodied the Fair’s optimistic promise. Her metal creatures and precise replicas showed how artifice could honour observation rather than dominate it. She recognised other planeswalkers without turning that knowledge into spectacle. Around her, makers treated the event as an exchange of possibility, not merely a competition for official approval.
The warning soon reversed direction. Tezzeret appeared as the Fair’s head judge, and the suspicious figure he pursued was Pia Nalaar. Chandra and her mother saw one another alive after twelve years, then lost the chance to speak when Consulate forces arrested Pia as the leader of the renegades.
